P.F. Gives Back: Heal The Bay

In 2011, our founder Kristen Pumphrey made the move from Austin, TX to Long Beach, CA to get the business up-and-running. She remembers recharging with dusk strolls, ocean in sight, letting life on the coast inspire more than a few of our classic scents. CA natives on team P.F. spent many summers in the sand, and we’re helping keep the beaches safe for years to come by giving to Heal the Bay

Heal the Bay is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making the coastal waters and inland watersheds around the Greater Los Angeles area safer, healthier, and cleaner by utilizing science, education, advocacy, and the power of community. We chose to work with this organization because they're giving back to the parts of California that have shaped so many of us -- not just at P.F. HQ. They're local to Los Angeles, where we design, produce and ship all of our goods, so giving to our community feels like the right thing to do this summer.

Since its founding in 1985, Heal the Bay has successfully campaigned against dangerous oil drilling plans, collected over two million pounds of trash from local beaches, and empowered its communities to become advocates for the water around them. But that's not all. The organization is currently tackling water quality issues caused by pollution, raising funds to increase water recycling, and inspiring Santa Monica Pier Aquarium guests to take action themselves.

For the month of July, P.F. Candle Co. is donating 10% of all No. 21: Golden Coast profits to Heal the Bay.

Available in three candle sizes, reed diffuser, room spray, and incense form, this best-selling scent is just as invigorating as it sounds. Notes of salty sea air, redwood, and eucalyptus are surrounded by white lavender and infused with essential oils of sage and palo santo.

Top Notes: eucalyptus, sea salt air, lime
Heart: white lavender, sage
Base: redwood, fir, palo santo
As well as donating directly to the nonprofit, the P.F. Candle Co. team will be participating in a beach cleanup, through Heal the Bay's corporate partnership program, Suits on the Sand!

Help us keep our waters safe and shop the entire Golden Coast line this month, and head to healthebay.org for more information. @HealtheBay #HealtheBay
