A Letter From Kristen

Let's join together in collectively saying:
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?
We started this year with a goal to focus on education and supply chain ethics/sustainability.
Despite the year's challenges, here is where we landed:

At the start of 2021, our team went to “P.F. University,” where Tom and I waxed poetic about fragrance, candle making, incense, and more. These recordings and quizzes were made available to every person in the company that wanted to learn a little more.

Our biggest project was getting Climate Neutral Certified! Halfway through the year, we realized we couldn’t do it alone, and we partnered with Climate Neutral to measure and offset our carbon footprint. Next year, our Development team will be focusing on reducing packaging as part of our Carbon Footprint Reduction action plan.

This year, we also made upgrades to our production line, including kitting out a “Soap Room” and undergoing a rigorous screening process to get our facility ISO 22716:2007 Certified for producing Hand & Body Wash.

My focus for 2022 is relatively simple — community, strengthening our bonds with customers and staff.

For our supporters, we will be focusing on listening and creating products that you want to see. We will build more opportunities for in-person events and engagement. Heading back to workshops earlier this year reminded me of the early days of P.F., where I kept going back to craft fair after craft fair. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a customer come back and knowing that you’ve built a relationship, not just a transaction. (Side note, if you have feedback on things you’d like to see, let me know!)

I want to connect you to our incredible team here at our warehouse, office, and shops — the people who make and sell your products and are some of my favorite humans in the world. They are my community, and so are you.

We will be increasing time off benefits and creating growth pathways for our staff. In 2021, 28% of staff were promoted to leadership or growth positions — we want to continue this practice for our team that has worked so hard.

Put simply, I want P.F. to be the type of company you are proud to shop from because of our quality and business practices. Thank you so much for making this possible.

You are a kindred spirit and I rejoice in your productivity. I am an icon artist and a professional gardener so I am surrounded with scents and oils and candles.
